Get ready to hit the trails with the latest 4x4 machine from Jeep. After making its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Auto Nation Group, the official distributor of Jeep vehicles in the country, has officially launched the latest generation Wrangler.
Lighter, more powerful and packed with all sorts of high-tech features, the all-new Wrangler has been upgraded for the modern age while still keeping to its iconic looks.
Instead of giving the Wrangler a revolutionary redesign, Jeep opted to give the new 4x4 an evolutionary makeover. That means the 2019 Wrangler still comes with the signature boxy design like its predecessors. What's new, however, are the bigger halogen headlights (LED lights are optional), bolder front grill, more rakish windshield, and restyled front bumper. Other changes seen on the Wrangler are the new taillights and rear bumper.
Apart from its looks, Jeep was also busy making the Wrangler lighter. Thanks to extensive use of aluminum and high-strength steel, the 4x4 is now lighter by 90 kg. The hood, doors, tailgate and windshield frame are constructed out of lightweight aluminum. On the other hand, the new body frame is made out of high-strength steel which makes it more durable while also allowing the Wrangler to shed a few kilos.
Stepping inside, the new Wrangler keeps the upright dashboard design from before, albeit carrying a sleeker and more modern appearance. It gets an updated steering wheel design, new-style gauges and multi-info display, revamped HVAC controls, and a unique center console that can hold up to five smartphones as Jeep claims. Like the older Jeeps, the new Wrangler's roof and doors are removable while the front windshield can be folded down when taking on the rough terrain.
Also receiving a makever are the gear selector and 4x4 lever systems which now look more upscale in design and appearance. Providing in-car entertainment is a 5-inch Uconnect 3 touchscreen display that supports AM/FM radio, Aux, Bluetooth, and USB. Other standard amenities available in the new Wrangler include: leather steering wheel with audio controls, 8-speaker sound system, 60:40 split rear seats, and a tilt/telescopic steering column.
Under the hood, the all-new Wrangler is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four that churns out 268 PS at 5250 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 3000 rpm. Power is then shifted via an eight-speed automatic transmission with 4WD. The carried-over 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 continues to produce 290 PS with 353 Nm of torque but will be offered at a later date.
A wide array of safety systems comes as standard on the 2019 Wrangler. These include: anti-lock brakes, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, traction and stability controls, roll mitigation, engine stop-start, trailer sway damping, tire pressure monitorning, and rear parking assist.
The 2019 Jeep Wrangler will be available for reservations and pre-orders starting March 14, 2019 at all Jeep dealerships nationwide. It will be available in two body styles and is priced accordingly:
2.0L Limited 3-Door Sport - Php 3,390,000
