The Isuzu D-Max has received a serious upgrade courtesy of renowned 4x4 builder Arctic Trucks. Say hello to the high-riding, all-weather capable AT35. Based off the recently refreshed D-Max, the AT35 gets beefier tires, the all-new 1.9-liter turbo-diesel engine and uprated towing and payload carrying capacities.
Upon first glance, the exterior itself pretty much remains the same from the standard D-Max. Different however, are the huge 35-inch off-road tires wrapped around the 17-inch alloy wheels. This gives the AT35 290mm of ground clearance than the standard D-Max. Also present on the AT35 are the rear sports bars and tinted glass windows.
Inside, the AT35 comes equipped with several features such as touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite navigation and an engine start/stop button. Beyond that, the AT35 is also fitted with Arctic Truck embroidered headrests, floor mats and door sill covers. It also gets diamon-quilted leather seats as standard.
As mentioned earlier, the AT35 is powered by Isuzu's new 1.9-liter RZ4E-TC turbo-diesel engine. It produces 164 PS along with 360 Nm of torque. It meets Euro 6 emission standards and does away with the AdBlue additive which Arctic Truck claimed makes the AT35 quieter and more refined. Available transmissions include a six-speed manual and a five-speed automatic. 4x4 is standard equipment as well on the AT35.
With the new turbo-diesel, the AT35 is capable of towing up to 3.5 tons. Meanwhile, payload capacity is limited to one ton.
For now, Arctic Trucks stated that the AT35 will only be available as a double cab pickup and is available in the following colors: Cosmic Black, Nautilus Blue, Obsidian Gray, Splash White, Titanium Silver, Tundra Green and Venetian Red.
