Bugatti to reveal lighter and more agile Divo hypercar for the corners

For those that find the standard Bugatti Chiron hypercar too tame, there's the more powerful and more expensive Chiron Sport. Soon however, Bugatti's lineup will be getting a lot wilder with their upcoming model; a more hardcore and limited hypercar called Divo.

The Divo will be Buggatti's track-focused hypercar

The name Divo comes from French racing driver Albert Divo, who won the famous Targa Florio race on a mountainous circuit for Bugatti back in the 1920s. That said, the upcoming hypercar will also be taking inspiration from the said race, which requires it to be 'light and nimble'. Bugatti has revealed that the Divo will have less weight, be able to corner better, and have more downforce to improve handling.

Compared to the Chiron which was known for its top speed capability, the Divo will likely be a track oriented hypercar. According to Bugatti, the Divo will have 'outstanding handling properties'. They also said that it will have 'a new, strong design language', which likely means the Divo will have a more aggressive aerodynamic package to improve handling.

“Happiness is not around the corner. It is the corner. The Divo is made for corners. With the Divo, we want to thrill people throughout the world. With this project, the Bugatti team has an opportunity to interpret the brand DNA in terms of agile, nimble handling in a significantly more performance-oriented way,” said Stephan Winkelmann, President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S.

Aside from those mentioned above, Bugatti has not revealed any other information regarding the Divo. Only 40 units of the Divo will be built and each will have a net price of €5 million. Bugatti will be revealing the Divo on August 24 at the The Quail – A Motorsports Gathering in California.
