It's school season once again, and that means services are busy once more ferrying students from their homes to their schools and back. For drivers that are looking to replace their aging service vehicles or mini buses, Foton Philippines may have just the replacement that they're looking for.
Say hello to the 2019 Foton Transvan HR School Service Van. Like its UV Express and family ride derivatives, the new School Service Van is built to carry multiple students from point A to point B.
Measuring 5335mm long, 2020mm wide, and 2250mm tall, it's one of the tallest and roomiest in the people carrier segment. With its bubble roof design, small kids can easily walk through the cabin and stand up without having to lower their heads. To keep them comfy, it also has a rear air-conditioning system as standard for those hot, humid days.
For in-car entertainment, it has a 2-DIN sound system that supports CD, AM/FM radio, USB, and even Aux. More importantly, the Transvan HR School Van comes with the following safety features: individual seat belts for all passengers, anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, and brake assist.
Powering this particular people carrier is a 2.8-liter inline-four turbo-diesel engine. It makes 225 Nm of torque between 1800 – 2000 rpm and is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. With it, the Transvan HR School Van can carry 16 passengers with no problem.
As it is, the new School Van is based off the standard Transvan HR. This means it has the same suggested retail price as the sixteen-seater which is at Php 1,223,000. Not included however, is the yellow paint and additional decals for the school service conversion. Interested buyers can have those extras installed on top of the SRP mentioned earlier.
