Kia seen testing upcoming three-row Telluride crossover in the snow
Another crossover concept from is set to become reality it seems. Remember Kia's Telluride concept that debuted at the North American International Auto Show in 2016? Well our spies managed to take pictures of what looks to be the production version of the full-size crossover playing in the snow.
Looking at the photos, the heavily-camouflaged prototype appears to have remained faithful to the concept's original looks. Starting with its front fascia, the production Telluride could still come with the distinct square headlight design. Also, the huge 'tiger-nose' grill, could also be retained from the concept albeit made to look more cohesive.
If the face still looks familiar, the side profile appears to have adopted a sleeker shape. Despite the camouflage near the D-pillar, we get to see that it has a sloped finish rather than a boxy design from the concept. Also seen on the Telluride prototype are plastic wheel lip moldings which were also present on the concept version.
At the back, it's hard to tell what Kia did to change up its design from the 2016 concept. What is clear, however, is the use of a new taillight finish. We also expect its overall look to be toned down as the one used in the original design looks unconventional.
High-output engines are expected to power the Telluride when it's officially launced. A plug-in hybrid version could also come into play as the concept came with a 3.5-liter GDI V6 that is helped along by a powerful electric motor. This made it possible for the concept to produce a total system output of 400 PS.
It's highly likely that the Kia Telluride will make its official debut some time later this year or in early 2019.
