Find Hyundai’s current seven-seater Santa Fe too small? Well, good news. Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines, has launched the supersized flagship Palisade crossover at the 2019 Manila International Auto Show.

The 2019 Palisade is Hyundai’s largest crossover yet. Measuring in at almost five meters long, the brand’s flagship SUV is set to take on the likes of the Ford Explorer, Mazda CX9, and the Honda Pilot. When it comes to styling, the Palisade follows that of Hyundai’s current design language. Up front, there’s the brand’s signature Y-shaped grill coupled with high-mount LED daytime running lights and headlights positioned on the bumper; similarly styled to the Kona and Santa Fe.

Looking at it from the side, you can see how big of an SUV the Palisade is. There are long doors combined with tall windows which lend to its bold look. At the rear, there is a rounded off tailgate flanked by a pair of vertical taillights.

Step inside and you’ll be greeted by a large ‘floating’ infotainment screen front and center. The infotainment system's housing then blends with the vehicle’s instrument cluster which features a pair of analog gauges and a large multi-info display in between the two. Splitting the front passengers is a wide center console which houses the air-conditioning controls and the push-button gear selector.

The Palisade offered locally features a 2-2-3 configuration with captain seats in the second row. It also features a number of USB ports all around as well as cup holders.

The Palisade is available with only one engine option in the Philippines. Powering Hyundai’s flagship SUV is a 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel with CRDI tech and it's good for 200 PS and 441 Nm of torque. It is then mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, sending power to all four wheels.

The lone variant of the 2019 Hyundai Palisade is priced at Php 3,240,000.
