With Formula 1 pre-season testing already underway, all of 10 teams have now revealed their challengers for the 2019 grid. In order to meet the new regulations set by the organizers, all of the teams are running new cars with a revised aero setup from that of last year. More so, almost all the cars now sport a brand new livery and color scheme for the season. The question now is, which team has the best looking F1 car this season?
Red Bull was initially a front-runner with their unique dark-blue and red color livery for the RB15. However, the team has quickly announced that the dark blue-red colors will only be used for the debut of the car along with pre-season testing. The team will be reverting back the cars to their original look of blue-yellow-red once the first race of the season starts in Australia.
With Red Bull reverting back to their common colors, one of the teams that is running new colors that really stands out is Haas. The black-gold look on their VF-19 car is reminiscent of the timeless John Player Special livery found on classic 70's Lotus Formula 1 cars. Their new black-gold scheme was chosen mainly to reflect the colors of their new title sponsor Rich Energy.
The Williams F1 team is sporting a new colorway as well for 2019. The FW42 now sports a traditional blue and white livery (see Rothmans Williams and BMW Williams) that features their new title sponsor Rokit. For the time being though, the car has yet to make a public debut so we have to settle with this digital rendering.
As for the rest of the team on the field, most of them retained the same look on their cars as they did last year albeit with small changes. For starters, Ferrari's SF90 still runs the same red colors. This time though, there are more black accents which help give contrast to the car. The same goes with McLaren with the MCL34 wearing the same orange-blue theme. However, the blue color is noticably more prominent this year. Interestingly, Toro Rosso's STR14 appears to have retained the same livery as last season.
Alfa Romeo was the last team to reveal their challenger for 2019. The newly painted C38 still has the same red and white colors of Sauber, as the team was formerly known for. This time though the Alfa Romeo logo on the engine cover is larger and the red being a lot more prominent. Renault's R.S. 19 still runs the same black-yellow theme as last year but now has a different color pattern.
Racing Point F1 team, or formerly known as Force India, has decided to stick with the pink-blue color way of last season for the RP19 despite being under new management. Lastly, defending champions Mercedes also continues to rock the silver-tiffany blue livery of last year for the W10. I guess these teams believe in the saying that 'why change something that doesn't need to be changed'.
So, which one is your favorite F1 car so far?
